How to take good
conformation photos
Here are
some basics to keep in mind when taking a photos of
horses for conformation purposes.

Position
the horse with an open stance (nearest foreleg
forward, nearest hind leg back.)

Nearest
foreleg should be close to vertical.

Nearest
hind leg should be close vertical from hock to
pastern,
-
CROUCH
SO THE CAMERA IS POSITIONED AT THE HORSES ELBOW.

Make
sure the horse is clean of mud and sweet

Grooming
helps define key points
-
Have the
horse side on to the camera and on level ground.
-
Have the
horse holding its head at a comfortable level, not
eating or held too high.
-
Don't
turn the horses head towards the camera.
-

Better pictures will
give a more accurate analysis.
