Power Gearing - energy
of the hoofs
Power gearing results in energy being
transferred from the upper body of a horse, down through
the limbs, before being outputted as an energy from the
hoofs.
This is generated by the compounding
effect of certain speed and strength levers. With power
gearing and racehorses these terms are not directly
related to the overall strength and speed of the
racehorse. Rather it relates to the power output of the
horses end levers, or specifically,
the strength and speed that it generates through its
body, that is eventually transferred as a force against
the ground and air, from its hoofs. Measuring the power output of
these hoofs is what power gearing is all about.
