Thoroughbred Yearlings - Forecasting preferred distance via conformation

Objective. To take into account a number of conformation traits, and use them in a compounding fashion to test their success in matching the Thoroughbred yearlings likely preferred distance in comparison to what its breeding suggests. Our previous research has shown mature horses preferred distance can be reasonably predicted using conformation, but can this also apply to the younger horse with varied growth patterns ?

Results. A Yearlings preferred distance by breeding can confidently be predicted using a number of conformation traits.
