| Joseph Estes is regarded as the
forefather of modern Thoroughbred Breeding Theory. For 35 years he was
Editor-in-chief of the world famous Blood-Horse, as well as being
director of research in what later became known as The Jockeys Club
Information Systems. He was also an expert breeding advisor to many of
the leading breeders of his day. He prided himself on thoroughly doing
all of his own research.
His common sense approach combines the science of genes and objective criteria in the selection of preferred breeding lines, to accurately forecast the racing potential of a racehorse. |
